The film was remade in the United States under the name Quarantine in 2008. Rec placed at number 60 on Time Out 's list of the Top 100 Best Horror Films. Rec was released on November 23rd, 2007 to critical and commercial success, and is considered one of the best films in both the found footage and horror genres.
